What Happens When the Content Treadmill Works?
Ashley Flowers has achieved the kind of success most creators dream about. Her podcast, Crime Junkie, is one of the biggest podcasts in the country, and she built Audiochuck into a podcast empire worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
And according to Bloomberg, Flowers was regularly setting her alarm for 2 or 3 a.m. to work. She told employees she worked weekends, holidays, and even when she was sick.
That's the trap of the Content Treadmill: Success doesn't get you off it. It just makes the treadmill go faster.

When Successful Content Creates More Work
Earlier this year, Flowers canceled The Deck, another true-crime podcast she hosted. It wasn't because the show wasn't working. The Deck was generating more than 300,000 downloads per week.
According to Bloomberg, Flowers made the decision after her young daughter expressed how unhappy she was about how much her mother worked.
You may never build a podcast empire as large as Audiochuck. But if your business depends on Content Revenue, you can find yourself on the same treadmill.
A successful podcast needs another episode next week. A successful newsletter needs another issue. A successful YouTube channel needs another video. Success doesn't eliminate the work; it creates more things you need to keep producing.

And when you want more growth, the natural response is to ContentMaxx: create more content, make it better, and distribute it in more places in pursuit of more attention.
But every new podcast, newsletter, video series, or channel gives you something else you have to keep feeding.
What are you building toward?
