Day 7: After Your Workshop

Whew! You did it! You successfully hosted your first Social Workshop. Congratulations!

At this point, you ought to be feeling pretty good about yourself. That’s quite an accomplishment. No doubt, you caught small things that could be improved in the suture. That’s the nature of the beast. But don’t let the details overwhelm the big picture: You now know everything you need to know to repeat the process and grow your community.

Remember, the key to building a community with Social Workshops is to host them regularly. With that in mind, let’s talk about what you can do to continue on the path to success:

Review Your Metrics

One of the most essential steps is to review the metrics for your event. Analyzing this data can help you understand how successful your event was and improve your strategies for future events.

1. New Email Subscribers

First, check the number of new email subscribers in your database. In the beginning, this is the most important number to track. Your email list will ultimately become your most crucial asset, enabling you not only to attract attendees for upcoming events but also to establish an online community and host in-person gatherings in the future.

2. Number of Registrants and Percentage of Attendees

Compare the number of registered attendees to the number of actual attendees for your event. This will give you an idea of how successful your marketing efforts were in driving attendance. Over time, you can use this percentage to anticipate your attendance.

3. Average Attendee Stay

Finally, take a look to see how long, on average, attendees stayed at the event. If most people stayed for a long time, it’s a signal that they found it valuable. If a lot of people exited early, you will want to look for ways to make your workshop more engaging.

Ensure follow-up drip campaign is working.

You put a lot of time and effort into creating your Social Workshop, but the work doesn't stop just because the workshop is over. It's important to make sure that the email drip campaign that you set up prior to the event is working properly. After all, this campaign is one of the best ways to keep in touch with your attendees and keep them engaged even after the event has ended.

By double-checking the performance of each email in the campaign, you'll gain valuable insights into which ones are most effective. You'll also be able to identify which links are getting the most clicks. So take the time to review your email drip campaign and see how you can improve it for future events.

Solicit feedback from your attendees.

A post-event survey is a great way to gather feedback on what went well and what can be improved in the future. Don't be afraid to ask for constructive criticism, as this can help you fine-tune your virtual events and ensure your attendees have the best experience possible. One way to collect feedback is by sending out a short survey via email. Analyze the insights you gather to improve your workshops.

Set up your next workshop.

The best time to invite people to the next event is while they’re still feeling the high from the event that just ended. To make sure you don't miss a beat, be sure to set up the registration for your next event as soon as possible. This way, you can keep that momentum going and ensure that your next event will be just as successful as the last. Consistency and organization are key to creating a successful Social Workshop series, and will enable you to build a thriving community.
